Last year we ventured down to Marina Bay to celebrate NYE. It was tough to find parking and many roads were closed, and after some detour we managed to locate our friends. The fireworks were spectacular, but not even halfway through the smoke started to cloud the air and it started to rain ashes. I held off on having too much Champers because I had a hopeful inkling of perhaps baking a bun in the oven, and apart from the great company, it was definitely not the best way to usher in the new year.
This year we spent the evening with both our mothers, watching some fireworks from the loving room in our PJs. As soon as it was over I was able to send everyone straight to bed.
Especially when you have a rowdy bunch at home, the best way to start a new year is with some peace and quiet, don’t you agree?
