And so there we have it, two birthdays down, one to go, adults not counted. I have been feeling particularly lazy recently, and was even mooting having a birthday party at home for Abacus, but hubby felt that since he’s older now and would enjoy it more, we should throw him a small party. Fair enough!
After our recent stay at Hard Rock Hotel where we noticed a birthday party going on at the beachside, we thought that it would be an awesome venue for a party. Food for everyone, shelter for the oldies, and a clean beach and water play area for the kids meant that everyone would be able to entertain themselves.
And so we made the arrangements, invited a small cosy group of friends and family, and everyone had a really good fuss-free time. We gave out sand toys as the goodie “bags”, and the only decor I did was to put up (more like instruct it to be done!) the Happy Birthday banner. And this was the absolute most decorating I’ve ever done in my entire life save for ordering balloons for previous parties. I would love to throw one of these super organised and coordinated parties, with a theme and everything matching…but I’m not that creative, or have the time to do anything!
It was so cloudy in the morning but thankfully it cleared up and remained just slightly overcast so no one got fried while out in the sun. I dare say everyone had fun! We love parties that are a little different – this year we had Mittens’s on a yacht, and last year we had a cosy high tea for Scout’s full month. Now we’ll have to outdo ourselves for Scout’s party! Any suggestions are welcome 🙂
