Staycation: Festive Hotel, RWS

We took the chance to book a promotion for the Festive Hotel Family Deluxe room during the September school holidays, because we’d stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore before and were keen to try these Family Rooms since they have a loft bed and sofa bed, which would be just nice for a family of like us of 5 plus MIL.

We only stayed for 1 night this time, so we didn’t do all that much. We started the day with lunch at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora™, then exploring the aquarium, followed by dinner at Palio. The next day we had brunch at Mac’s, and barely managed to squeeze in a short swim at the pool before heading home. We probably could have done more things on Sentosa, but hubby had to go back to work.

The hotel itself is quite comparable to Hard Rock Hotel‘s, in that the fittings are all looking so worn already, although they are apparently in the process of refurbishment. Although the family rooms are not particularly big, they are quite a clever use of space. Mittens immediately declared the loft bed for himself, while Abacus was happy to sleep on the sofa bed with my MIL. I’m quite relieved they don’t both want to squeeze onto the bed with me!

Festive Hotel have their own pool with a kids pool and a little kids play area, but you can also use the pool at Hard Rock hotel and use their lovely beach pool (and towels, so you don’t need to lug yours over).  The hotel doesn’t have a car park so the closest is the one at the convention centre, which is fine if you know your way around, but can be annoying if you don’t.

If I had to return, I would probably choose Festive over Hard Rock because their rooms are just that little bit more quirky and service was slightly better.

  1. I have been wanting to try out Festive Hotel but never got the immediate plans for it. From your photos, the room looks more like an apartment than a standard deluxe hotel room. I have long heard of the loft bed, and bet it is the best attraction for kids there, plus the pool too. Will try it one of these days. Thanks for sharing the experience!
