About Us

We’re a family of three boys and a mummy (that’s me!) and TWO little girls.

One of my boys, Abacus, was born with a congenital heart condition. You can read more about this condition here. I was (more) inspired to write after his cardiologist asked if I’d be interested to be of some support to other parents of kids with similar conditions and the site just grew from there, because I usually have a lot to complain about. In the end I didn’t do anything for him (the cardio) but I’m so happy to have been able to share some thoughts with fellow parents of TAPVC kids, and now other parents who also have a lot to complain about.

In my past life I was a Marketeer, now mostly I’m just a Mouseketeer. I’m a WAHM, a work at home mum, doing a couple of odd jobs, mostly related to the medical industry, but for most of the kids’ waking hours I function like a SAHM, a stay at home mum, and most of my writing reflects that of a SAHM. I have a post graduate degree in Marketing, and I only feel compelled to say that because I know there are plenty of women who perhaps feel that being a SAHM is a bit (or a lot?) of a waste of their education or work experience, or something like that. Although there are times I wish I was somewhere else, I have never been happier as my children, (especially after a stiff drink after a hard day), and they are my priorities right now since they are so young. Plus a stiff drink at night always helps. Maybe when they’re older and more independent I’ll have a little more time to apply myself to more industrious work, as if staying at home is not labourious enough! We’ll see 🙂

In my spare time I run marathons – as in, I run after my kids. In truth I hardly have time to do anything apart from some random yoga poses at home which comprises mostly of holding a baby with one arm and reaching for something with another limb. Being able to do the Tree Pose relatively well comes in very handy as a mother. I did qualify as a Rainbow Kids Yoga Instructor in 2012, which was a great achievement for me, especially since I was 6 months preggers then!

      1. I really enjoyed reading your posts about TAPVC because we are considering adopting a 3 year old child who was diagnosed and operated for TAPVC at the age of almost 2 years. I’m still trying to learn about this condition. I looked for your email address all over the blog, but could not find a “contact link”. Please respond if possible.

  1. Dear Mummy Ed,

I’m Agent G from Beauty Undercover, a website reviewing hair and beauty salons in Singapore 🙂

While searching online, we came across your blog commenting on EC House.

Would you mind if we publish an excerpt of your blog post and link to your page here: http://www.beautyundercover.sg/hair/ec-house/

Your blog post would help others know more about an experience at the salon, make a better salon decision and at the same time, increase your blog traffic.

Let us know 🙂 and hope you have a great week ahead.

    Warm Regards

    Agent G
